SECTION 2 - WEAPON, UNIFORM, AND VEHICLE STRUCTURES

 

2.1 - Weapon Structure

  • All Troopers will carry the baton, x26 taser, and service pistol on their duty belt.

  • All Troopers will have the beretta shotgun in their vehicle's trunk.

  • Troopers may carry a M4 Semi-Automatic Rifle in their trunk if properly qualified, replacing the shotgun.
     

2.2 - Uniform Structure

  • All Troopers will be using the Highway Patrol Uniform which is able to be spawned on the Model Spawning section on the trainers. Code - sahp

  • The vest may be worn by a trooper at any time of high risk situations.

  • Chevrons on the uniform are to only be used by Sergeant or higher.

  • Troopers may use other uniforms that pertain to a sub-division and/or operation if authorized by the department command staff.

SECTION 3 - SUB-DIVISIONS

 

3.1 - Air Support

  • The Air Support Unit is responsible for coordinating with ground units and dispatch to aid in the apprehension of criminals.

  • The Air Support Unit also has capabilities to assist in Search and Rescue Missions.

3.2 - Commercial Vehicle Enforcement

  • The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit is responsible for enforcing all laws and regulations of commercial vehicles in the state of San Andreas.

  • The goals of the the unit are to lower the amount of commercial vehicle accidents, enforce commercial vehicle regulations, and hazardous cargo regulations.

3.3 - Highway Patrol Investigations Unit

  • The H.P.I.U. is responsible for the investigations of all crimes.

  • The goals of the unit are to investigate major crimes and fulfil the justice system through gathering evidence and piecing scenes together.

  • The unit also is specialized in investigating any motor vehicle accidents in the state, mainly in the interstate and highway systems.

3.4 - Motor Bike Unit

  • The Motor Bike Unit is specialized in its ability to maneuver in tight spaces.

  • The Motor Bike Unit can also be used pursuits, escorts, and patrol vehicles.

 

3.5 - Special Enforcement Bureau

  • The Special Enforcement Bureau is a division that specializes in statewide instances of trafficking of drugs or any other forum of illegal paraphernalia.

  • The Special Enforcement Bureau works with multiple subdivisions community wide on working on crime prevention.  

 

3.6 - Public Information Unit  

  • The Public Information Unit is a specialized unit formed to allow the public to get an idea of what the Highway Patrol is like on a day to day bases

3.7 - Motor Recovery Unit

  • The Motor Recovery Unit is responsible for retrieving motor vehicles when Civilian Tow and LSPD Tow are not able to respond.


 

- Joining/Creating a Sub-Division

  • To join a Sub-Division you must be the minimum rank of Trooper (Any current subdivision may raise the minimum).

  • If you wish to create a new subdivision, submit an SOP to all members of of the department command staff.

 

Section 5 - Auxiliary Trooper Program

 

5.1 - Auxiliary Trooper Limitations

  • Auxiliary Troopers can not be active as a Auxiliary Trooper for more than 12 Hours in a given week. This is to make sure that Auxiliaries are being active in the main department in which they hold.

  • Auxiliary Troopers hold the rank equivalent to Trooper in the main department.Please follow the vehicle structure accordingly.

  • An Auxiliary Trooper can be 10-90’d at any time by a Highway Patrol Staff Member

 

5.2 - Auxiliary Trooper Vehicle Limitations

  • As a Auxiliary Trooper you can drive anything that your sub-division allows you to drive at the rank you have obtained in that division.

  • If you have been a Auxiliary Trooper for more than 1 month you can drive the Trooper First Class equivalent vehicle.

 

5.3 - Auxiliary Trooper Sub-Division Limitations

  • As a Auxiliary Trooper you may join a primary sub-division (ie. HPIU, SEB, CVE, DUI) and a secondary sub-division (ie. ASU, MBU).

  • In these sub-division you may hold the highest rank underneath a supervisor position, for example if you are a Detective in HPIU, you can become a Motor Trooper 2 in MBU. YOU MAY NOT BE A RANK EQUIVALENT TO A SUPERVISOR POSITION.

 

 


 

SECTION 6 - PROMOTIONS/DEMOTIONS

 

6.1 - Promotions

  • Every rank in the Highway Patrol has minimum requirements to be promoted.

  • Supervisors in the department monitor Troopers and report anyone who has met the requirements to the Commissioner’s Office for promotion.

  • The Staff and Administration tags are ONLY given by the Directors of the Department of Justice with recommendation from the Commissioner.

6.2 - Demotions

  • The department heads have the right to demote a Trooper if any of the above policies are broken.

  • The department heads have the right to demote a Trooper if they do not meet the patrol time requirements
